miro EdgeCard mioty
The miro EdgeCard mioty is a Mini PCIe mioty-Gateway Card providing a plug-and-play solution for long-range and low-power wireless communication networks based on the mioty standard. The Mini PCIe form factor card uses a USB 2.0 serial link (CDC) to communicate with a host processor.
It enables to build high-performance and certified mioty gateway solutions. Existing edge-level network devices can be upgraded to act as mioty gateway. Any host system capable of USB CDC is supported.
Theory of Operation
The mioty BSM is implemented and running on the miro EdgeCard. It exposes a USB CDC ECM network interface to the host system. The host system is responsible for forwarding traffic between the card and the network, allowing the BSM to reach the mioty service center. Configuration and management of the card are performed over this USB network link.
Physical Installation
The card is a standard Mini PCIe module (full-size). It installs into an mPCIe slot in the host system.
The host system enclosure shall provide mechanical protection preventing unauthorised physical access to the installed card.
Antenna connection is via U.FL connector. Antenna routing, placement, and compliance with applicable RF exposure limits are the responsibility of the system integrator.
The card is powered from the mPCIe connector (3.3 V). No external power supply is required. The host system must provide a stable 3.3 V rail within the mPCIe specification.
