miro EdgeCard

The miro EdgeCard is a Mini PCIe LoRaWAN® Gateway Card, providing a plug-and-play solution for long-range, low-power wireless communication based on the LoRaWAN® standard. The Mini PCIe form factor card uses a USB 2.0 serial link (CDC) to communicate with a host processor.

It enables building high-performance and certified LoRaWAN® gateway solutions. Existing edge-level network devices can be upgraded to act as LoRaWAN® gateways. Any host system capable of USB CDC is supported.

Models

The miro EdgeCard family includes three models: GWC-02, GWC-08, and miro EdgeCard 80.

The miro EdgeCard GWC-02 is the current Sub-GHz model based on SX1302, available for 868 MHz and 915 MHz. It offers eight receive channels and a single dedicated transmit channel, enabling advanced duty cycle operation with listen-before-talk and spectrum scanning.

GWC-02 is recommended for new designs.

The miro EdgeCard GWC-08 is an earlier Sub-GHz model based on SX1308, available for 868 MHz and 915 MHz. It offers the same eight receive channels and single transmit channel as the GWC-02.

GWC-08 is end of life

Use miro EdgeCard GWC-02 for new designs.

The miro EdgeCard 80 (2.4 GHz) operates in the 2.4 GHz band and uses three dedicated receive chips and one dedicated transmit chip.

Physical Installation

The card is a standard Mini PCIe module (full-size). It installs into an mPCIe slot in the host system.

The host system enclosure shall provide mechanical protection preventing unauthorised physical access to the installed card.

Antenna connection is via U.FL connector. Antenna routing, placement, and compliance with applicable RF exposure limits are the responsibility of the system integrator.

The card is powered from the mPCIe connector (3.3 V). No external power supply is required. The host system must provide a stable 3.3 V rail within the mPCIe specification.
