Factory Reset

Overview

If the gateway is no longer functional there is a procedure to reset it to factory defaults. This will remove all user configuration.

If a gateway cannot be recovered through a factory reset, it might still be possible to update the firmware.

Factory Reset Procedure

  • Press and hold the reset button using a wire (e.g. open paper-clip).
  • Keep the reset button pressed. You will see the WLAN LED flashing 1 time after 5 seconds, 2 times after 10 seconds and 3 times after 15 seconds. On gateways with full hardening, the LED only flashes 3 times after 15 seconds.
  • Release the reset button and wait for the reset procedure to complete.
Important

Do not disconnect power while reset is in progress

The device will reboot and your configuration is replaced by the configuration from production. This includes the password from the label and, for customer-specific deliveries, the preconfigured settings. If the gateway was hardened, the hardening remains active. The entire procedure will take about 3 minutes.

You can also start a factory reset in the web interface under System->Backup / Flash Firmware, Perform reset.

The device will reboot and all settings reset to factory default. The entire procedure will take about 3 minutes.

Once the procedure is completed use the integrated web frontend to change the gateway configuration, such as LoRaWAN® network server and antenna settings.
