How to install and use your own SIM card
A miroEdge LTE configuration should work with any standard compliant SIM card in Nano-form factor like it's used by most Smartphones and LTE/WiFi Hotspots.
Important
We highly recommend testing a new SIM card using your smartphone and the correct settings provided mobile network provider before you start to install it in a miroEdge.
- Please make sure the SIM is correctly registered at the mobile network provider, and you have configured all required settings like the specific APN, Password and PIN disabled, in the MiroEdge's web interface.
- Please make sure, that you only open the gateway in a dry, safe, indoor place, and you have removed all cables, e specially power-in (USB or PoE)
- To be on the safe side try discharge any static charge you might carry by touching a known-good ground like a metal water pipe.
- Open the housing by unscrewing all 4 screws at the bottom using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Insert the new Nano SIM as it's depicted in the images below. Make sure its correctly oriented and fully inserted in the holder.
- Close the lid of the housing temporarily but do not yet use the screws
- Power up the gateway and test that the LTE connection is working after some minutes and you can see the gateway in the configured backend. Fresh SIM cards, especially multi-operator SIM cards, might take up to 10 minutes for the first registration in the mobile network even in areas of good cellular coverage.
- After you've verified the LTE connection is working as expected please fasten the 4 original screws very gently so that the plastics housing thread doesn't get damaged.

Important
After a MiroEdge Outdoor has been manufactured and fully tested for functionality, performance and water protection, each device is sealed with its individual warranty label. The seal documents a fully tested, untempered, water protected device. If you want to open a device, replace the built-in in SIM card or insert your own SIM, you need to remove the warranty seal. After that we cannot take responsibility for any damage or malfunction occurring right after. Please consider buying MiroEdge configurations with pre-installed SIM cards to keep your full warranty.
