miro Edge Performance
The miro Edge Performance is a higher-capacity LPWAN gateway designed for demanding deployments that require significant processing power, multi-module support, and advanced capabilities. It builds on the miro Edge foundation with enhanced hardware and greater flexibility for custom extensions. It supports LoRaWAN, mioty, and additional LPWAN protocols.
Key Capabilities
LPWAN or IoT Protocols
- LoRaWAN: 868 MHz
- LoRaWAN 2.4 GHz
- mioty
- Bluetooth
- Additional protocols via custom modules
Backhaul Connectivity
- Ethernet
- LTE/4G mobile network with dual SIM support
- Wi-Fi
- Custom connectivity modules via mPCIe extension slots

Components
The miro Edge Performance uses components selected for longevity and reliability. It is built around the i.MX93 processor, providing enhanced processing power while maintaining long-term availability and support for extended product lifecycles.
Security
Designed with cyber security in mind. The miro Edge Performance includes an on-board TPM (Trusted Platform Module) for certificate, key and licence management. Every device is delivered with a device identification certificate signed by Digicert, including TPM attestation.
Hardware Variants
The miro Edge Performance is available as indoor and outdoor variants, each suited to different installation environments.
Indoor Version
Larger form factor than miro Edge, offering more processing power and three mPCIe extension slots. Suitable for deployments requiring edge computing, local data processing, or multiple simultaneous modules. Powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or via 24VDC.
Outdoor Version
Ruggedized IP65/66 housing with three mPCIe extension slots and higher processing capacity. Ideal for remote deployments requiring both gateway functionality and advanced capabilities, or where multiple connectivity or service modules are needed simultaneously. Powered via 24VDC or PoE.
When to Choose miro Edge Performance
Choose miro Edge Performance if you need:
- Additional processing capacity for local data processing or filtering
- Three mPCIe slots instead of two, for multiple simultaneous modules
- Higher message throughput handling for large device populations
For a standard LPWAN gateway with Ethernet or LTE connectivity, miro Edge is sufficient.
Typical Deployments
High-Capacity LPWAN Network
In areas with dense LPWAN deployments (LoRaWAN, mioty, or mixed), the Performance's additional processing capacity handles higher message throughput. Deploy multiple Performance units for city-scale or regional coverage.
Remote Site with Edge Processing
Install an outdoor miro Edge Performance at a remote location with only LTE connectivity. Configure it to forward LoRaWAN or mioty traffic to your central network server and perform local monitoring, control logic, or data processing. Built-in support for dual SIM allows fallback between carriers.
Multi-Protocol LPWAN with Custom Modules
Use the gateway for LoRaWAN, mioty or other LPWAN protocols with custom modules in the three mPCIe slots.
